So apparently Nathan was asked a question about Joss, and he answered it. Why is that confusing? 

Isn’t portraying something you’re not the whole point of acting? If a straight person can pull off gay and vice versa then why not take the person who best read for the part?

I came here to say this. And I’ll add in “The State”. Both Daria and The State suffer from not having the contemporary music.

These jokes seem to be a play on pronouns, and at no point imply that trans people are less-than, or should be banned, or don’t exist, or whatever. It’s not explicitly offensive, it’s not even “noticing” something like a stereotype. 

Yeah I know. You might hear jokes you don’t like!  

THE HORROR

You almost never know who the opening act is for a comedy show and sometimes you don’t like that act.

Seconding this. And I will say, that even when he didn’t like something on which I disagreed, it was always interesting reading his review. (Best example was his pan of Wet Hot American Summer, which he wrote in the style of “Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah.” 

Ebert as a TV “thumbs up/thumbs down” guy maybe wasn’t that great and I often disagreed with him (but not as much as with Siskel who comically hated nearly every genre movie but loved even the most pretentious art film).
