As long as I am listing complaints about this show, I’ll add that I will watch all of it and wish AV Club coverage of it would continue. 

Splitting up Chuck and Wendy seems like a mistake, because they are such an unlikely pair to begin with. Is the audience supposed to be rooting for their reconciliation? Why?

I agree. They were able to occasionally do fun monologues that would never work in reality but now the characters communicate in them exclusively and it’s become tedious. The show just seems too pleased with itself now, assuming the audience loves references and “banter” (yuck) more than following a compelling story.

“This is an ensemble piece, not a specifically designed Johansson vehicle.”

What a baffling choice to make David Spade a comic leading man now. Just visually it does not work. 

“Parenting roles are determined by cultural expectations not chromosomal sex.”

It’s a birth certificate. Maybe it doesn’t “matter”, but if the government wants to track who is born and who gave birth to them, why not do it accurately?

At a certain point you do what you do. Maybe he could have done anything.

What was the Sam Worthington moment? Why did multiple producers assume this actor could anchor multiple big budget movies? I don’t mean to pick on the guy; very few people can anchor blockbusters. 

If the leadership of the state with the worst outcome becomes the “breakout star” of this pandemic, how will politicians act during the next pandemic?

“It is gravely concerning that an influential slice of the media, over many years, has sought to insulate themselves from taking accountability for what they say or print – even when they know it to be distorted, false, or invasive beyond reason.”

There were some clunky parts of Forest’s monologues. Nick Offerman has been great in this but he wasn’t able to sell everything in this one. The problem with sci-fi endings is that reconciling nonsense science with reality requires some furious hand waving.

He’s so great in Presumed Innocent. I would have watched eight seasons of a prequel series about Raymond Horgan.

Only high earners can provide for a family on one income now. How much time was there between when women were discouraged from working to when they had to work to feed their families? 

“I remember people going, ‘Oh, The Simpsons has gotten too silly. It’s lost its way. What’s this ‘Monorail’ show?’ A lot of people didn’t like the ‘Monorail’ show at first.”

Correct. But gingerly placing the frisbee on the ground instead of throwing it back was a bigger dick move than murdering Sergei. 

I wonder how much we can blame the actor. WKRP and News Radio both had a straight man as a leading man, but no one would say Dave Nelson was uninteresting. 

I was surprised Orange is the New Black wasn’t on this list. It’s the best example. 

Animation without the cast and without jokes. This tells us what the production bottlenecks are.
