The Medallion. Or Norbit. Those are my go-to picks.

I'm all for artists finding new sounds and pushing the limits of their abilities, but this isn't Dismemberment Plan. I wasn't expecting "Emergency & I Part II", but this is generic indie tripe. I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in a "comeback album".

This is handily the best of Montreal album since Hissing Fauna…in 2007, and it gets a B-? It's easily deserving of a full letter grade higher.
