Nope, they are very different. The majority of the Astral Cards use random cards in the players deck/graveyard. The only two that might be close is Whimsy and Faerie Dragon. But Cosmic Transmogrifier changes all cards in play into any random card in the game. You could have cards A, B, & C and neither of you have

The developers of Hex did work on the WoW TCG, as far as I know Hearthstone was made by Blizzard itself. Point was, that if Hearthstone took ideas from the WoW TCG then technically they are copying the people who copied MTG.

Oh god, I hope Hex doesn't have a "*DO NOT HAVE EACH PLAYER: construct their own library of predetermined number of game components by examining and selecting [the] game components from [a] reservoir of game components or you may infringe on U.S. Patent No.5,662,332 to Garfield." disclaimer on each card. LOL. Thanks

Very true. But keep in mind Hex is still a work-in-progress. It might look A LOT like MTG right now, but it just came out of Alpha and has a long ways to go until release. So there is plenty of time and work that still needs to be put into it (even more since this current event). The founder of Cryptozoic, Cory, has

I have a gripe with a lot of the points presented here. But the one that bothers me is "Win Condition". A lot of other genre's have VERY similar winning conditions, and yet everyone is making a big deal over it for Hex vs. MTG.

The Win Condition of Hearthstone is to take your opponents life unit total, which starts

I love how you brought fighting games into this <3. But I agree with what you are saying!

I agree with what you are saying, but I still feel that it should be acknowledged that Hex does have it's own unique cards which couldn't even exist (or would be overly painful to implement) in MTG, like Cosmic Transmogrifier for example. As for races/lore I'd say Hex has done a fair bit of work to make it interesting

This was a very good read thanks! I'm a backer of Hex who never played MTG. Honestly, I respect MTG a lot and never realized how close some of the cards are. I was aware however, that some of the mechanics/rules were inspired and/or similar to MTG when I started to play Hex. With that said, Hex does try to be it's own

I'm glad you're optimistic about Hex! I think they have multiple paths they can take, but going against someone who has deep pockets to shell out for lawyers is never a good thing. The people on the forums have contributed to many new ideas which Crypto could incorporate into their game to avoid looking too much like

^This. So much of this. I fear though, that if left to the courts the fate of Hex looks grim. People who aren't knowledgeable of gaming in general aren't always able to distinguish the smaller details. I mean, they'll probably just see the cards as "rectangles with colour" and be told that each game has a "UI thingy"

Not really, to be fair Hearthstone is it's own thing. But Cryptozoic did work on the WoW TCG (physical game). Which came before Hearthstone. With out playing either, I can't say if Hearthstone borrowed ideas from the WoW TCG, but if it did than that means that Blizzard copied Cryptozoic who copied WoTC... Think

Fair enough. But on the same hand they could've simply said: "We knew of her departure well in advanced." Or "She left for personal reasons etc." and put in an effort to clarify things more.

As far as I know it's not a common thing to have a contract "sealing your lips" whenever you quit.

Edit: She might be under NDA, but that would be more towards IP's/Projects of Naughty Dog.

Hence why I said it's a courtesy.

Where do you live? (If you don't mind me asking.) I've heard of interesting laws like that in France before.

There is such thing as a "two weeks" notice. Although, I don't know if that's just a thing from where I'm from (Canada), but even then it's just a courtesy. I'd think if she left that spontaneously it either means she was forced out or rage quit from the company. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

I died of laughter around when he said: "I was literally un-fuckable"

Yes. We should all avoid dream theatre.
