That’s Gary, the unspeakable train abomination, to you!

It’s fantasy. And the world has existed in a medieval stasis for a long long time. Just wind stuff back to early middle age levels - before plate armor and crossbows. Prior to the construction of real castles (except magic ones I guess)
This is a prequel I don’t need. The basic story beats are already laid down. The end of most of these characters is already known.
Nothing in Avatar has had the staying power of Idris Elba bellowing: “Today we are cancelling the apocalypse!”
He put on the mask in the shipping container scene in episode 3.
How I Met Your Mother is also like this for me.
Loki is way more interesting and fun as an anti-hero/villain.
The Kid Loki stuff was tremendous. It stumbled in Young Avengers during the transition into young adult Loki, and then absolutely soared in Agent of Asgard.
The whiplash going from reading the I09 review to this is something else. It’s like you aren’t watching the same show.
And Last Samurai.....
Ugh, Avatar.
Damn do I love 40k.
For a second I thought this article was about Emma Stone, but then I realized the character wasn’t Asian.
I was reading about the movie the other day, but they had arcs written. But they didn’t make it to the screen.
The movie has tons of problems. But that one moment? That one made me very happy when I saw it in the theater for the first time. Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime in live action. Transforming and declaring that he IS Optimus Prime.
I laughed pretty hard just reading it.
Such sad ends for some for the people in that picture. And a couple who turned out to be horrible.
I can’t star this comment enough. I STILL randomly say the chicken pot pie thing to this day.
Counterpoint: Taskmaster is AWESOME.
R&M toes the line between nihilism and caring so much that it can be exhausting. And while some characters, read: Rick, definitely land on one side and push the nihilistic view, occasionally stuff peeks through that maybe Rick is wrong about his view on the universe. And that’s fine for that show.
I liked this show…
What?
ETA: I see elsewhere in the thread wife was unaware of the open nature. That’s pretty damn gross.
I mean, in the show he left Cersei to fight the dead because it was the right thing to do. And he stayed until that was done. He just couldn’t bring himself to stand against her when everyone turned their attention back south.
