For those running WordPress blogs, I'd recommend the Google Sitemap generator. It automatically regenerates [sitemap.xml] and notifies Google of the update every time you make a post. You can find it here.

This is definitely a good list for those starting out with Ubuntu, especially the Automatix suggestion, that alone takes care of many of the setup hurdles new Ubuntu users have to deal with. I do have a couple of other suggestions to add though:

Well, I just tried to do a file transfer with 2 unofficial clients (Gaim to Adium), and it didn't work, it attempted the transfer, hung at my end, and said I cancelled at the other end, just like it always had before. So I guess the file transfer feature in Google Talk is not the same as the one in the Jabber standard.

Unless you're worried about someone packet sniffing your data, Windows file sharing should be just fine. Just make sure you don't have any users that aren't password protected and change the workgroup on the two computers to something other than WORKGROUP or MSHOME to prevent your computer from being automatically
