Unfortunately, you’re right on the money. And equally unfortunately, you’re going to get a lot of pushback for the wrong thing. You could quibble (though I would not) about Luke’s learning curve compared to Rey’s.

You underestimate just how vapid and shallow some people are. Without a real personality for anyone to latch on to, they rely on hundreds of scribbles to project their identity to the world.
Man people are going to be mad when baby yoda reveals his dark side and kills Rey in episode 9.
Some of these are well done. Others are like...
Just wait until a couple of episodes from now when it turns out that Baby Yoda is a huge piece of shit.
Well, hopefully it works out better for these folks than it did for all those people that named their kid Khaleesi.
Personally I’m going with the sequel trilogy is really just truly terrible fan fiction and, as such, can be totally ignored.
Not so fast, LL! The Scouring of the Shire didn’t render the work of the heroes moot. The heroes were absolutely successful; the world is saved; Sauron is gone for good; Middle Earth is fine until the end of times. The scouring episode showed how the hobbits had grown and how they’ll never return to their original inno…
It’s an annoying and often lazy retcon when the creators want to unwrap a wrapped story and can’t think of a creative way of doing it. I agree; it sucks.
I really dislike the cliche(and I do call it a cliche) revisiting a classic property, advancing it decades and then showing your original heroes as broken losers.
I would say it’s a valid complaint. Star Wars is, at it’s heart, a fantasy fairy tale wearing a science fiction costume. The heroes needed their happily-ever-after. That’s effectively how RotJ ended: the villains are dead, the deceased are at peace, balance is restored, and now our heroes can chase a life of normalcy.
Uh, you can’t “undercut” the end of RotJ. They have made it abundantly clear that nothing from the original trilogy had any lasting impact.
Help me understand. What is so weird about a guy playfully biting his wife’s finger?
I don’t think it’s weird with the video as context. My wife or I would do this to the other.
If this guy wins the primary, Trump is all but guaranteed another 4 years of presidency.
WOW is this article condescending.
That’s the problem with your argument. YOU ARE THE RACE OBSESSED.
When you look at Scarjo, all you see is a straight white woman.
All execs see is a popular actress who can make them money.
This isn’t complicated or racist. I mean... unless we are talking about the lens YOU see the world through.
I don’t know why but seeing this makes me feel depressed.
I say this completely w/o malice, you deserve the heart attack or diabetes coming your way.
