Fair enough.

As an engineering Jalop, I can safely say.. "This is the easy stuff."

I agree. On both traffic laws and gun laws.

I've got 3 consecutive circles here in MD in store for me during my drive this evening. mmm...off-camber turns...

I just recently learned the finer points of this fact. I have my rear previously bald tires and the enlightened commentariat here on Jalopnik to thank.

Yep. When I downshift in 4WD in my old truck, it's like dropping an anchor out the back. Say what you will, I was quite proud of myself for discovering that fact on my own. Of course, it helps to have extra weight in the back, as well as good season-appropriate tires.

...still laughing out loud.

We've got a curbed chicane near me, too. One side is straight thru, the other has a nice little S. When it's safe (late at night, no pedestrians, school buses, etc.) I take the chicane about 40mph. The street speed limit is 35. :)

@Michael Delaney & @SerialThriller Glad I can help! You can also make text bold by using <b> </b> tags.

You can use <i>to get italics</i> around your text.

That would be fun in some vehicles. On 4-wheelers (ATVs) we call them whoops. (Because that's the sound you say when you go over them...whoop, whoop, whoop.) With properly synchronized applications of weight and throttle, you can hop from one to the next.

Ain't that the truth.

IIRC, tunnel time at the University of Maryland subsonic wind tunnel is on the order of $1000 per hour (my student design team got a few free hours out of an equipment barter / poor student arrangement). Anyway, Ford and some NASCAR teams have tested subscale models there, though I don't know how many hours are

It sure does. I learned to drive on one of those. Stick shift, too.

Late 80s Dodge Caravan or similar. And possibly Alabama...

Very well done. However, a Ford could get out of that situation, no problem.

As a MD resident, I completely agree. Fortunately, historic registrations still get the old black-on-white, so my truck's new tags still look fine.

I love those trucks, too. Sorry to hear yours is no longer with you. I really like the styling, and I think the grille is a huge part of that. Mine is an '84, straight 6, manual, 4x4, 8' bed and I love it to death. I got my grille from the junkyard too, but I got it off of a later 80s deluxe model, so it's badged

Oh yeah, I'd support that. (But I have no training in design language...even worse, I'm an engineer!)

Ah, right. I just thought it was interesting that Ford had done this sort of thing before.
