Regarding the Flex grille: the first couple years of the seventh gen F-series trucks (1980-81) didn't have a blue oval on the grille either. Just F O R D across the bottom of the hood.

I used to work the pit at a similar establishment. I had to be very careful where I was and where I was looking so that there was no way I could be accused of this behavior. (Not easy for a young straight male, I might add.) Seriously, who wears a mini-skirt to the local quick lube?

I do that too, for the commuter car. One of these days, I'll get around to entering 8 years of data.

And now that poor sniper has the dubious privilege of meeting the author.

So... at least on my Hyundai, there's an electrical switch right there near the pedal pivot point. Seems like that switch could be moved so that it registers at a different point of the pedal swing. Not sure what kind of engine computer problems that might cause, though.

I was thinking the same thing. That's an awful lot of long guns, for there to be no pistols. I don't know about NC gun laws, but if they're anything like MD (though they probably aren't), then maybe it's good for him he didn't have any handguns in the mix.

A very insightful and creative comment. I fear there are very few outliers in the sample set (given that the sample set is comprised exclusively of DB7s with aftermarket rims).

THAT video....was really well done. Many thanks.

Reminds me of my Jiffy Lube days when we'd pass the oil filters too close to the starter. Lots of times, it would arc-weld a hole straight through the side of the filter. Mostly on older trucks, and sedans with the Chevy 3.8.

Whaddya know. It exists! Cool find.

This got me thinking about fused jumper cables. (To protect the knowledgeable who make the occasional error.) Not sure if it's feasible though.

Hmmm...it wouldn't be too hard to put a small kitchen fire extinguisher in my trunk. (I've got the jump-starting polarity figured out.)

I can think of one current fighter jet tech that I'd rather not see in my car for some time...

You and me both! Gotta love that 4.6L: V6 performance with V8 fuel economy!

Great. Now I'm going to have to go check the spoiler on my Mustang for a NACA profile. Thanks a lot. :)

Hmmm... That could be. The gently sloping rear glasses on the Prius and Volt (vehicles that I am led to believe are quite aerodynamic) seem to support this theory, as they have no spoilers.

But is the spoiler effective enough to overcome the parasite drag that it creates? And what about the narrow gap between the trunk lid and the underside of the spoiler?

Pros: Rebuilt mechanicals, solid body.

There's a Mustang joke in here somewhere, too.
