I thought the mayor looked more like Tom Selleck.
Agree. Except I had two problems:
1 — Playing "Fame" while Elsa is getting dressed. It jarred me out of the show's world, and seemed lazy and obvious. It's 1952, at least try to integrate some songs from that era.
I think it was the best episode of the season so far, with the Froyo sketch being weak and the Black republicans being the weakest link (Black Republicans acting like dorky white guys with a dark tan was funny back when "In Living Color" did it). But the funniest lines —
Just to be nit-picky: The villa where the gangster pool party was held was in Columbia.
I've read a couple of Sex Pistol fans chiming in on the most influential bands asked on the show. Let's make this clear, ONE MORE TIME!
God save the Queen, guv'ner!
It's a trick question! The Ramones helped spawn the bloody Sex Pistols!
Never read "Hellblazer." But if that was necessary to appreciate this pilot, then the writers have already failed. What i saw was a clunky story, ANOTHER overly-surly Brit, an unbearable young-and-dumb woman (she's gone, 1 point in the show's favor), and a pretty overhead shot of Atlanta at night. C- at best. Unless…
I agree that this episode could have been sharper, but it was funny. And as one who was a kid when "Wacky Races" was on, I LOVED the scene when all the adults emptied the store of breakfast cereal then sat in their pajamas to watch the race!
Yes! Thank you!
The "Family Matters" sketch was, hands down, the funniest of this season! Though the reviewer totally missed the "It's A Good Life" parody from "The Twilight Zone." Jaleel…I mean Steve Urkel was like Billy Mumy…I mean Anthony who's power controls everything and everyone involved with the show.
They both did. Appearing (not long enough, sadly) as FBI agents in FX's "Fargo."
Did anyone think it was odd that Gus shot an unarmed man with a screwed up leg several times, and he gets an award versus a trial for murder?
A "B-"? What? Are you on meth? Eric, you need to stop reviewing this show, because obviously you don't know how funny The Boondocks used to be, and have no idea how to be unbiased. That was the worse, most offensive episode I have ever seen. EVER! And I watch a lot of TV. Do you work for Cartoon Network? That's the…
When Aslaug was doing the bitchy wife thing at Ragnar in the bedroom, I
was waiting for him to jump up slap her to shut her up. I mean this
isn't the time of The Maury Povich Show, and I just don't think an Earl
of a Viking Clan would take so much shit from a woman (I mean, he's an
Earl — why can't he screw anyone he…
