So awhile back in the the age of the late 80s, where brake fade was still an issue. My brother and I came up with an idea as we rolled through the mountains of the eastern United States looking at the seemingly endless run-offs meant for runaway semi-trucks.

Most any auto parts store in the states will take used oil for recycling.

My question is how do you manage the pay difference. This is a world where an E-9 (Enlisted, chief) thats been in 20+ years makes less than an O-3 (Officer, captain) thats been in 6 years.

We had a few Prowler LATVs (The one in the foreground) It’s a modified Rhino 660, Fox Racing suspension, beefy skid plates, and stronger roll cage, not sure if there were any drivetrain mods. They moved pretty good topping out around 55-60 when they ran. However...

Seems more like a CUCV than a HMMWV in terms of a direct comparison. From that perspective it makes sense.

Presenting the Fraud Broko!

Not every state is California.

Nothing will happen to them on American soil. They are one of the few allies we have in the Mideast. Sure as shit we won’t do a thing to them.

If I recall some mid-80s Ford trucks with cruise control had sensors on the cable. Interfacing that with an Arduino, would be easy. I have some code from the spoiler controller I made my wife’s New Beetle that already does the conversion on a Micro.

A lot of people forget how huge that car was culturally. It was a massive jump up from the Fairmont/Fox-LTD. Style wise it was the future, then despite the excellent sales they didn’t make any major mechanical updates until it died.

Had the alternator on my AE86 lose it’s primary mounting bolt on a trip from Texas to New York at 2 AM. Pulled some speaker wire from my sub, and wraped that through the mount to finish the trip.

No, it was a holdover with a late 70 era chassis with no weight, and a good engine for the era. That likely would have been forgotten if not for drifting, a certain comic, and rose a colored glasses.

Jordan is amazing, as are many areas in the Mideast. Lots of beautiful scenery, historic areas, and interesting culture. Would love to go back, given a chance.

In a sea of beige, one man rises a step above.

A bad ohm-en. But who could resist.

The difference being that the Tacoma has always been proven to be solid. While S-10s & 1zt gen Colorado’s were not so much. The new Colorado is darn nice, but who knows how it will last until time answers that one. The “new/old” Tacoma will likely not have unforseen issues.

Best and most problem free used cars I’ve owned had over 200k on them, My current DD has 300k. The only things absurdly high mileage mean to me now are: Lower sale price, lower wear highway miles, and usually better upkeep.

In the trunk an 84’ Corolla SR-5, an equally 80s era condom box with condom poking out the sides of the decrepit box. And a nearby tube of lipstick, that clearly had been bitten off... Yum!

Likewise pilots probably said the same thing about HUDs when they first debuted, and how they preferred iron sights. Certainly it will have teething pains, but some day it might be just as universal as they are now.
