I remember reading the comments on the reviews for The Bridge and one of the commenters regularly commented on how accurate the portrayal was (generally, pretty accurate, from what I remember).

No one would think Psych is less fun than The Mentalist. Right? Right?!

This was a sweet, albeit sorta weird, story. It's not a good basis for a movie, though.

It is strange there's no successful pop culture about the Hebrew kings or judges or the Babylonian exile. Those stories seem ripe for adaptation. Although I didn't watch that NBC drama last year or whenever that was, so I guess I'm part of the problem.

I think it's largely because there isn't a millennium of written history/literature of warring European kingdoms. That doesn't really exist, certainly not to they extent, for Africa or the Americas. Of course, there's plenty of recorded history for south and east Asia, but the only person from the Western Hemisphere

But then we get Gods of Egypt and we're back to the drawing board.
