@Emperor_was_a_jerk: A more legally sensible option is that people may not have other media that can play back h264. Ripping to xvid is far quicker, and is more easily streamable to wireless media centre clients. People may just prefer the open source xvid codec as well. Although there is x264.

It runs 1.6 in the UK, and as of yet there is no way to flash a custom ROM on it.

It would be great to know more about these. I visited them on holiday last year, and they truly are breath-taking. An amazing feat of engineering. I hope that they can be preserved for generations to come. The information about them is always being updated, and was so great to see the recovered items in the museum.

Please be similar to the Evo. GSM Evo would be amazing. Probably with a slight CPU bump, and we can loose the 4G, as i think its only CDMA that has those kind of network capabilities just now, and certainly no 4G in Europe.

@semi-renaissance man: It is always going to happen with phones, and all tech for that matter. You should just be greatful you will be "stuck" with a great phone

@sg1969: At the time it was worth potentially nothing to me due the the apparent ease of pirating it. I just would feel like it would be a but of a slap in the face from the developer to say because its been pirated lots lets make it $5. Rather than the $20 you paid last week.

Em call me stupid here, but this phone is out. I understand this is for the American market etc, but is a count down for this required? Also giz, In march, it was running 1.6, and finished, and launched in the UK a month or so after. It runs well, and is pretty much everything you would expect from a 1ghz 4inch 8mp

@azzygoh: Regardless of how much I or anyone has supported them, it still leaves people out of pocket. Money that they could have spent funding another indie developer. Especially if pirate amnesty is the main driving force behind this.

I would be pissed if i was one of the people who recently paid full retail for the game instead of stealing it, for them to turn around and say, "oh here pirates, you can have it for $5"

@curiouscomputer: Vast amounts of engineering uses to create safer buildings, more efficient engines etc. I exaggerated a little, but considering this only took 90 days on special software. There are only 12 cores in here, so it would not be very good for things like folding anyway.

@PixelProphet: Calculating Pi to that level can be very useful for predicting many other things.

Surely these people will be due some sort of compensation from RIM? They now have a product that does not do what RIM sold it to them as?

@Mex: Sans touch screen, my symbian does everything your android does, on almost 3 year old hardware, and it does it with better battery than my friends Desire

Sports Tracker, with Step counter on Symbian S60.

@Missus Dinnie Dorito.: Em 4 years ago google had a shit tonne of money from profits. They could afford whatever they wanted then, as they can now.
