Bob Hope once said that the most talented comedian he ever worked with in films was Willie Best, as according to Hope, Best’s timing was pitch perfect.

I”m not a fan of their cover of Waits’ Ol’ 55, but I would imagine their cover has made Tom financially secure for life, as it’s turned up on every “Greatest Hits” compilation they’ve ever done.  Sort of like Nick Lowe’s windfall, for “What’s So Funny ‘Bout Peace, Love & Understanding” turning up on The Bodyguard

If married couples count, my vote is for Tony and Carmella Soprano’s blowout at the end of “Whitecaps.”  It was Scenes From A Marriage, New Jersey style.

I expect Tosh.O to turn up somewhere, as IIRC, Tosh has part ownership of the show, and for whatever reason, his production company and Viacom is shopping it around, rather than having the common sense to just move it to CBS/Paramount whatever the Hell they’re calling their streaming channel. What’s odd is that MTV is

I’ve alway said that if I ever got married, “Hot Rocks Polka” will be on the reception playlist.  I’m also a fan of Weird Al’s Elvis Costello “style parody,” “Sick Of You.”

The SweetTarts ones aren’t bad.  I haven’t had the Necco/Sweetharts version since childhood, and never had any Necco nostalgia, as all their candies sucked.

While I love my family, I can’t say I love their choice in pizza. People in my neck of the woods absolutely love it. For me, it’s like a bit Daniel Tosh did on one of his last shows about a guy from Canton who has a YouTube page about his visits to places in the region that used to be other things, such as a Sears now

I’m from Eastern Ohio, close to where Ohio Valley Style Pizza was invented, and I’m the only member of my family who actively despises it. When my Brother and his family visit from Virginia Beach, they stop at DeCarlo’s, one of the orginators of the style, and order a tray on the way home. I just don’t get it.

Believe it or not, I can get the regular and Mint Aero bars at Kroger in Wheeling,WV. And at $1.29 each, they’re a steal. I used to buy them at a candy store in a mall in Pittsburgh that charged $3 for them.

Was that the campaign in which they had local residents complaining that if the bridge was built, Canadians would come to buy US milk on the cheap?  I saw that on IIRC, The Daily Show, and couldn’t stop laughing.

Why Hershey refuses to bring back the Mounds Easter Egg astounds me.  Especially as they still put out an Almond Joy one every year.  I eat those, but I prefer cheap dark chocolate with my coconut.

And the weird thing is, the way Phil came out of the motel closet made him look like Count Dracula coming out of his casket.  Uber creepy.

Nick Lowe’s The Convincer came out on the same day as well.  I bought Nick’s and Dylan’s records, and IIRC, they were the first CD’s I bought from Amazon.

IIRC, this was supposed to be a theatrical movie with Douglas, that was set to film a few years ago, but something fell through at the last minute, either funding or actor’s and director’s schedules and it was scrapped. I’m interested in seeing it, especially after the Reagan miniseries a few years ago with James

Part of the problem that Brinkley had was that his studio was at the NBC affilliate in Washington,DC, and they couldn’t “break the network” even if he was authorized to do a special report, as that had to be done in New York, as that was the only facility that could contact and connect all the NBC affiliates at once.

I remember reading in IIRC, William Manchester’s “Death Of A President” that David Brinkley was in his office in Washington, when the AP ticker issued the first dispatches from Dallas on 11/23/63, and he was unable to break the news nationally, as the only person who could authorize a “special report” was Reuven

Wiggle Wiggle would like to have a word with you.

Also, Elaine’s neighbor, the gossiping Rabbi was played by Fridays cast member Bruce Mahler, and George’s girlfriend, who’s apartment George fled because of a hamburger fire was played by another Fridays cast member, Melanie Chartoff.
