As expected, a trip to the drag strip for 13
consecutive runs on my 3.0-swapped SVT Contour
wiped the new clutch straight out. Having never
gone this deep into a car before, I pulled the
wheels, suspension and transaxle off and swapped
in a new clutch disc and pressure plate. But

I just stole your comment.

Someone brought one of these to our big British car show a couple years ago. 289, British racing green, tan inside, completely original, and something like 175,000 miles. Rock chips all over the paint in the front, and heavy wear on the leather seats. It was glorious.

Damn, David, I’m not one to gush, but this is the kind of content that keeps me coming back. It’s not just a report of “Here’s something that happened” but rather it’s a dive into why it happened, complete with sweet sweet math to back it up!

Me when an article references Canada: Oh! CANADA!

Near Roanoke, VA, there is a Dutch Oven Rd.

I used to drive by this one all the time. Got to be pretty high on the list.

Fuck this guy and his eco disaster asshole truck. If he would have left the filters and regulators intact, he would have emitted 572.000 tons of CO2 and used 215000 liters of fuel in this lump of wastefulness while covering that mileage. Since he deleted those components, his truck can be qualified as a health hazard

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) were deleted.

Call me when the Volvo that’s for sale is a 262

Sorry, I’m out of the country right now.
