As someone who has lived in the Bay Area, this isn't surprising. A lot of Silicon Valley liberalism is very superficial. Underneath the surface, there is a lot of ugliness.

eh. there's some good stuff in each of these eras. Steven Universe, Regular Show, Gravity Falls, Legend of Korra and Adventure Time are all excellent. If anything, much of animation has become deeper with more substantive themes than in the past. And then there's crap like Teen Titans Go
