What is it with people swapping V8s into these? Not complaining, but I've seen quite a few of these with a V8 swap.

Pretty cool, but I wouldn't pay any more than $5000. CP.

I guess you could blend in, but it's a freaking Corolla. Not only can you go to jail if caught, you actually have to drive a Corolla, something worse than most jail sentences. Absolutely dreadful. If you're going to steal a car, at least make it one that's worth driving. I mean, can you imagine what the chase scene in

Jalopnik should be the sponsor. Then maybe they'll listen to our ideas on how to fix NASCAR...

The ultimate Jalop car: a mid-engined, turbo diesel rotary, RWD, wagon with a manual transmission and pop-up headlights. I doubt any automaker is planning something like this, but if they devoted the resources they could probably pull it off. I can guaruntee they won't even try, though.

I see Pontiac Azteks on a daily basis.

The Lancia 037. It would be a story of a RWD underdog beating the AWD heavy hitters. There would be drama, suspense, romance (probably). It would be brilliant!

How much begging do you think it will take to get Audi to build this?

Does it have a manual? If so, then we've found the Holy Grail of Jalop cars: a turbo diesel RWD manual wagon.

Lancia Stratos for sure. No luggage space and will probably break down multiple times every hour. But, at one point in the trip, the car will work, you'll be on a great road, and it will all be worth it. Bonus points if you find a dirt road because instant rally stage.

So much want...

It must be called the Z06. There was already an outlash from Corvette fans about the no longer circular taillights so just think of what will happen if they get rid of this legendary name.

That may be true, but it doesn't change the fact that most of the Corolla's rivals are as good as if not better than the Corolla. You may be right in saying that the Corolla is perfect in the eyes of the people who buy it, but why do they choose the Corolla over it's superior rivals? Brand loyalty? Reliability? A

I've never seen a Lancia 037 or the Lancia Stratos. I can only imagine how beautiful they are in real life.

Maybe it wasn't ridiculous way back when, but now...
