I can tell you I would routinely promote stuff with recommends that I didn't necessarily agree with, as long as it wasn't obviously awful trollish shit or someone just gaming for an argument. I can't speak for others.

Basically they're trying to pin the trolling with gifs that has been going on to a kinja blog by impersonating one of that blog's members claiming and with that impersonation claiming they did the trolling. CLT is that blog, it's shorthand for clashtalk.kinja.com
