I wanted to like it, but I couldn't make it through the pilot, mostly because I was wondering why Alex would make a baby with Penny's sweet hunk of Pete meat. I miss Happy Endings!

Not ready to make nice is still one of my fave Dixie Chicks songs.
At one stage my dad asked me about GoT (he assumed I had read/seen it because he heard it fantasy and that's my jam) and I sorta wondered if I should bite the bullet and get into it, and then reading comments like these I'm just as happy to read the articles on io9 about it rather than investing my time and brain…
Pop Culture Happy Hour did a short batch edition this week with Sarah Wendell of Smart Bitches, Trashy Books, and yeah, women and readers of romance are driving the book industry.
My brother in law, Jim, was apparently always called Jamie till he got to grade school and there was a girl Jamie, he was Jim from then on.
Tuvok did manage to teach Lon Suder ... that gets someone some points!
That is very cool (excluding the hockey sticks of course!) and does do a better cross section of all of Canada's cultures, because we do have a good selection of them!
Love the flag, but I wonder with some 600 First Nations as well as Inuit and Metis communities, who's history should be represented on the flag?
My many years dead Oma who loved dogs would have loved that people are sharing dog themed German lessons with strangers, so not useless.
Watching that video, while having my fingers gnawed on my very not-feral, orally fixated, orange male cat, all I could think was, what has happened to that poor cat to make them react like that.
I saw a comment that went, "if you think the secret service were there for Ben, then you haven't been watching the show".

At my sisters wedding, my parents spent money on three things
When I became an American citizen (I was born in Canada, and live there again now), the judge said "Y'all remember that you are Texans first and Americans second".
I just asked my cat, who looked much like those orange kittens when he was little, if he was a secret ISIS agent, and he just stared back at me and started licking his ass.
Agreed!
I watched my Oma die of brain cancer while I was a teenager. It is a horrid fate, I'm sorry for your loss. Watching the situation has made me very aware of end of life care, and my whole family has discussed our wishes very clearly and openly.
My dad is a medicinal chemist, so growing up I only knew the non-brand names of the stuff in the medicine cabinet. Too the point now where I'm not always sure what brand name goes with which active ingredient. I'm more likely to have the name ibuprofen at the tip of my tounge rather than Advil.
