So, in the menacing stranger category, an ultimately OK but potentially harrowing thing happened to me last night. I was walking home in the after work hours last night but the sun had gone down. I live in NYC on a pretty busy block and there are three buildings in a row with lighted awnings. A group of ladies was

This is by far the scariest one yet! I LIVE IN CINCINNATI NOT FAR FROM NORTHSIDE

Years ago one of my husbands conworkers had someone living in his attic for weeks. Weird little things kept happening before the found the guy.

the last one fucked me up

About the “Natalie’s Dad” story: That second incident with both the parents and their angry expressions, not being able to move, the feeling of dread... that was definitely sleep paralysis.

I gotta ask: What do you think her mom and dad were doing? Was there a possibility they were sleepwalkers and maybe they were somehow weirdly “connected” when one or the other were doing it? I just keep thinking about this story, it seriously is just disturbing and I need answers!!

I had a very similar experience at my uncle’s wake. A family friend who was a legendary drunk showed up and although quiet and polite, was noticibly tipsy. It’s a wake after all, he wasn’t the only one who may have taken a drink before showing up. At one point he emerged from the restroom and I noticed as he ambled

My grandmother passed away after a long battle with dementia. I was folding laundry at home when my mom called to give me the bad news. Afterward, I was putting away clothes in my daughter’s room, crying and thinking about my grandma, when I smelled her perfume. It was Channel No. 5, her signature scent. It lingered

This is a little more creepy/disturbing than scary, but it’s something that still gives me chills when I think about it (and I try not to think about it very often). Note: All names have been changed.

I have had this sort of thing happen too. At my father-in-laws funeral I heard him SIGH right by me, as though he was sitting behind me to my right. Not a breathy sigh, but an ‘ahhh’ sound, clear as a bell, his voice.

Tried posting this one a few years ago, but was too late. Not a ghost story, but it’s one of the scariest things that’s ever happened to me.

Awww, what a nice ghost!

I’m sure this will be buried, and it’s not terribly frightening, but it involves supernatural phenomenons/phenomena/whatever:

My friend was followed off a bus to her door and she had to slam it on him. So fucking scary. I only exit off the front so the driver sees me if it’s late at night.

Not sure this is “scary” but more “wtf”

the mug thing actually happens a lot if you put cold water in the glass, and condensed water forms a seal around the bottom edge. Air trapped beneath the glass will actually cause the glass to move or float across a surface. Fun fact.

When I was 19, I was on a bus at about 9 pm. A creepy guy started asking if I carried a tune, knife etc, how I would defend myself if necessary. I got up and switched seats to the front of the bus. At my line deserted stop, I got off and he was right behind me. I dove back onto the bus and the driver called the

IT’S TIMEEEEE

Also using the landline to call 911 would give a better location to the operator than a cell would.

I too questioned the landline but also, if I had the option of a landline I feel like I would use that for calling the cops. My instinct would be that it would be easier for them to trace and identify-unsure if this is true.
