Fred Rogers spoke at the baccalaureate ceremony when I graduated from college. Everyone I spoke to who had direct contact with him unanimously said he was everything in real life that he was on TV: Gentle, compassionate, loving, with a wide-eyed wonder at taking in the world around him.

So much this. We saw so little of Will in the first series relative to the other kids, in the back of my mind I was wondering if he’d be up to snuff if given the demands of a larger role in the followup series. Not only were any such fears dashed, all expectations were exceeded. This kid’s both subtle and intense.

Did this work? Sorry, I’ve been away for the past week or so.

When I was a kid in the late 70s/early 80s in eastern Pennsylvania, a local dairy actually sold bagged milk by the half-gallon. I remember we had a plastic pitcher they'd slide into with a notch to slip the clipped corner of the bag into to "close" it between uses.

Oh yeah, the movie overall was fun, and definitely Bay's best. I just remember very specifically how the shaky-cam quality bothered me, not realizing it was a Bay feature, not a production error.

I saw this in theaters when it came out. I remember watching the incoherent, shaky-cam car chase sequences, and literally thinking: "Oh man, I bet the cameraman messed up these shots, and they were too expensive to reshoot, so some poor editor had to cut everything together as best as he could."

Die Hard is a classic, but that's actually one of the things I like about Die Hard With A Vengeance … Almost every character (particularly all the other police and FBI agents) behave competently and even heroically.

Love this movie. A friend showed it at our regular "movie night" for obscure films in the mid-90s; I bought it a few years ago when I saw it had a DVD release, and have introduced several friends to it since then.

People talk about the friendly service, but I dunno. Last time I was taken to a Hooter's, the waitress must have had exceptional gaydar or something, because she spent all her time at the neighboring tables full of ogling bro's and very little time with us, and the times she did stop by seemed kind of disinterested

This reminds me … I haven't been there in a few years now, but I've visited Universal Islands of Adventure in Orlando a few times since it opened. One of my biggest disappointments was that the otherwise authentic-looking Jurassic Park Welcome Center they built does NOT include the "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth"

I was working in "the biz" when this movie came out. I remember it being perhaps the only time I ever felt physically ill sitting through a movie in the theater.

For a long time I've imagined that the culture(s) of the galaxy in Star Wars had banked early on on a handful of what turned out to be dead-end technologies. They got to the point where they could do some amazing things — faster-than-light-speed travel, cybernetic implants, artificial intelligence — but each

Wh-wh-whut …? :(

One of the reasons I enjoyed Dinner: Impossible … even under severe time constraints chef Robert Irvine was obsessive about food safety and food quality.

Hmm. Too bad to hear it's not AMAZING, but I think my friends and I will still want to see this one anyway. A couple hours of can-do optimism, even if overly sentimental, couldn't hurt right now.

Do the characters/actors in the movie ever get around to ACTUALLY singing?
I'm sorry, but every time I'm stuck watching the trailer I can't get over the hangup that the animals are presumably SUPPOSED to be singing, showing off their talent (given both the movie title and the plot) … but they're all clearly just

I'll join in and say this is a great, underrated movie.

I'm a big fan of the low-and-slow, for sure. Low heat, gentle stirring and folding, comes out smooth and creamy like a custard. Maybe toss a little shredded cheese to melt in. Mmm boy.

Years ago I spent some time doing caricatures at SeaWorld in Orlando. One afternoon I was drawing a woman and making banter with her when she suddenly asked, "Are you from Philadelphia?" I was surprised, and said, yeah, I grew up about an hour north of the city. She said she could tell by my accent.
I was really kinda

Sure … worked on the first couple seasons of Mickey Mouseworks (before a stupid executive decision morphed it into House of Mouse), and The Tigger Movie.
