It’s paying homage to the ASCII dungeon crawlers like Rogue, Hack, and Moria. They were all mosly white/black symbols/letters/numbers sometimes with some things highlighted in different colors and it seems they’re staying close to the inspiration even in the graphical design.

Anyone who thinks the Smash image is making light of the situation has never experienced the trauma of accidentally throwing a cluster of pikmin to their death.

I’m in the same boat as you. I passed on Dark Below when it came out because, frankly, lots of folks said that it sucked. I came back to Destiny with HoW, but subsequently got turned off by the pricing structures of Taken King. I don’t want to have to go back and buy Dark Below to move on.

That’s exactly what I did, plus I had an extra discount which dropped the price to around $25. Unfortuantely I didn’t download the 17 GB update until last night... It’s still downloading.

Do you have the original Destiny on disc? You could sell that and then buy the legendary edition — which contains all the DLC — for $60. I think GameStop is taking original Destiny copies for $20 if you trade it in for the legendary edition, so it’d all just cost you $40.

I had heard that the House of Wolves stuff was worth at least half a damn, so I came back to Destiny after a huge lapse in play, so I bought it like two months ago. The horde mode stuff was sort of interesting, so I paid attention for a lil while but inevitably stopped playing.

As someone who made it up to a level 24 Titan and having sold the game. I bought the Taken King with all the content and am starting over... and I’m having an absolute blast. :)
