Great episode, the moment where Christine realized that her relationship with Spock doesn’t even make it to a historical footnote was genuinely touching. “History needs him to be the exact opposite of what you need him to be in a relationship” is hard to hear.
One of the best episodes of Star Trek I have ever seen, They even redid the SNW intro in the LD style, and added little references here and there.
Don’t skip the opening credits. It’s brilliant.

Oh Pike in the background throughout the dinner was killing me. His constant subtle “yikes” faces, or quickly reversing course with his tray.
I really loved the moment, late in the episode, when Mount is bring a tray of something or other over the others, and something else happens that clearly raises the tension in the room, and he silently adjusts his course and ends up just looping back to his kitchen.
Can we get a moment of appreciation for Sevet, apparently the only Vulcan in 200 years to understand humans and not be a massive jerk (from our point of view). He recognizes things like positive reinforcement as how humans learn instead of their relentless harsh judgment. This human Captain has taken time out of his…
