It’s a tough call to make. I agree with Hilary ‘everyone should be believed at first until they are disbelieved based on evidence’ in principal, but unfortunately it’s not so easy as that’ due to the sheer volume of rape cases that end in an acquittal or are thrown out due to insufficient evidence.

I’m quite shocked it’s taken Saatchi this long to put an exhibition of female artists. He has such a good reputation of treating women respectfully and I’m sure he’d never try to strangle his wife in a restaurant or anything.

Excellently put. Women are treated poorly in a lot of fundamentalist Muslim societies and also in fundamentalist Christian/ extreme right wing societies. Both are highly patriarchal and treat their women as property to be protected. They're pretty much two sides of the same coin.

So when women are sexually assaulted by Arab appearing men, the solution is obviously we close the borders.
