This. I didn’t get upset until I saw the dev’s response. Then I was like NOPE NOPE NOPE.

except it wasn’t anger farming. Okay. I am a queer woman, self identified SJW... and I read the RPS piece and was like “huh, that’s weird, wonder why the dev made those choices?” I was a bit worried and uncomfortable maybe, but I wasn’t *angry*
This, thank you!
look the dev could have just said “oh, I did it that way to create conflict in the game” but instead he went off on some half baked rant about hate clicks and bisexual men not existing etc... and THAT is the issue - not that someone looked at the code and said “huh, why did the dev make THAT decision?”
Except no, those are stereotypes not facts. How do lesbians even have relationships if women are 8 times less likely to hit on folks than men? It’s not true... and worse for a game - it doesn’t even make for more interesting gameplay. I would find it much more interesting to have propensity to hit on others etc be…
no, they aren’t. They are situational based on individuals and cultures.
this. If he had marketed it as a sexism simulator I would have walked away and left it alone. As it is I spent money on it and find out guy is pushing a sexist agenda with it.
yes, it’s the weird gross biases directly coded in that make me cringe. If his explanation had been “I wanted there to be more conflict and dramatic tension in the game and thought this would do it” I could have dealt with it but for him to be “I programmed it just like real life” (UGH) just wow no no no no no0oooo...
This is what is maddening. He could have said “I did this because I thought it would create conflict” but nooooo he’s like BI MEN DON’T EXIST... which is just... WHAT?
yes this! THANK YOU THIS 1000 TIMES.
So. I was moderately concerned about what was revealed in the original article. I bought rimworld and played it a bunch but hadn’t noticed the “lesbian problem” as it were...since I hadn’t played it *that* much.
Depends on your definition. There was the Sword Coast Guide which was not an adventure but a setting etc with options. I generally consider setting books to be splats (especially where they come with new mechanics) but there has been no books that are purely options yet. This does not look like it is that either...
You might want to consider looking for some third party adventures. Anything by Frog God games is great.
This, being nice ruins the game.
It looks like a dove...
those people should just have their licenses taken away. Problem solved.
NO PEDESTRIANS JUMP INTO CARS THIS IS A BS ARGUMENT
even if pedestrians are breaking the law it isn’t legal to kill them...
Thank you.
you make a choice to get in the car. So your life is the one that should be on the line - not the lives of everyone who didn’t make that choice. Pretty simple.
