I never thought that was the case, and I'm always amused at how people saw the series 3 premiere as a "fuck you." I feel like that says more about the viewer who insists on seeing it that way than the show itself.

Well, the show clearly counts Hurt, but, hey, be as dumb as you'd like.

There's only one asshole, and that would be you.

Nice "The Power of Kroll" reference! You've made my night.

I feel like this exact argument has been had with @avclub-298673367c6de609ae5970ce1e699c50:disqus just about every week; like being stuck in a confession dial, it's getting old.

Rigsy was the trap. The story wasn't about him. It built on his character established in Flatline. Beyond being the "mystery" the Doctor could solve, his character helped illustrate some things about both the Doctor and Clara that were crucial, and he got about as much characterization as anyone else I can think of

I'm sure if only one or two camera angles were used, people would have not just said "meh, that wasn't a big enough deal." Jesus, people.

What "people?" Also, "it's hard not to agree" - I find it VERY easy to not agree with you there. So some nebulous people out there - Twitter? Tumblr? - said it was a bit funny looking, and you think that one would find it hard not to agree that it was "off" (hard not to agree = hard to disagree). Well, I disagree,

In Osgood's first appearance, WILKINS' description was not incorrect. Her subsequent appearances corrected that, but in her first appearance, she was literally a mega fan of the Doctor who went to pieces praying that the Doctor would save her. Did we watch the same show? I also don't think anyone "changed their

1. Get your shit straight before you post. (You got the name wrong; "a lot" does not equal that one time [where he admitted it was an incorrect assessment]; etc.)
2. You've hit the board running with your negativity. Maybe it's bedtime?

That's the stupidest thing I've heard so far today.

Agree with you on everything but the "paid very, very well" part. I'm a nobody wage slave who ekes by and I make more than a cop. Maybe after you've been one for several years, but actually looking at local job posting right now for my area (which is urban), cops start out in the high $30s to low $40s, and (as I

I can't tell if your Thatcher line is for real or not, but I think it's for real, and if so…wow. Decent? Christ on a crutch. I'm glad someone who thinks that Thatcher was "decent" doesn't like Doctor Who's politics; that means it's totally okay for me to be fine with their politics. (Also, the Thatcher stand-in in

No, it's saying it's bad to hate the immigrants, but just as with any group of people who identify as a group, there are "extremists," "fundamentalists," etc., and those are not to be conflated with the group as a whole, and taking the actions of a small percentage of people to represent the group as a whole and

What?

Doctor Who is sci-fi like Game of Thrones is an historical. It's FANTASY.

Oh, I dunno, anticipation? Doctor Who fandom is the worst.

Wow, I did not get that vibe from that comment at all. I took it to mean, since she's connected with the Doctor, that she and Jack would one day meet. I didn't think they were making a "yeah, he'll fuck you" reference.

Doctor Who fandom especially!

I think you've got the nail on the head with your first paragraph there. I've introduced several people to the show over the years, variously showing them either episodes that I thought were good or that I liked - some classic, some new - or, in one case, one of the worst episodes ("Time and the Rani") and they've
