A man at a Trump rally in Minneapolis this weekend sparked outrage after a Reuters photographer spotted him wearing a shirt that read, “Rope. Tree. Journalist. Some assembly required.”

This made me physically sick when I saw it yesterday on Twitter. A free press is essential to democracy — the Founding Fathers understood that (even the ones like Jefferson who got savaged by the newspapers at the time.) Why can’t people living in 2016 understand that too?

There are many reasons why the tired “they’re both terrible choices” thing is so fucking ridiculous but this is a really big fucking one of them. And you’re right that it isn’t something that will be solved by him losing the presidency either. It’s terrifying to think that after all of this awfulness we’ve endured…

I don’t know if he is a Trump supporter (although I’m going to go out on a limb and say that’s a safe bet) but he is a raging bigot of the highest order. Like he is nipping at Vox Day’s heels in terms of bigoted Sci Fi authors. It almost makes me wish he weren’t so damn talented.

I used to enjoy the Ender/Bean books, until I learned about Card’s horrific brand of anti-LGBT politics. I’ve sworn never to read another of his books, and I’ve never seen the movie. I want his words to kill his brand forever.
