Would you prefer the term "motor" instead? Does that help your confuzzlement?

No, it doesn't. None of these breakthroughs ever make it out of the lab. Those incremental advancements are not what you read about and a 300 mile car on a charge is due to lots of batteries and motor efficiency more than capacity advancements.

Efficiency improvements are a result of microprocessor technology, using smaller scale manufacturing processes to fit more transistors on a die.

That car that goes 300 miles on a charge and has over 600bhp, is using battery technology that has changed little over the past 15 years. Most refinements that have happened is allowing the battery to discharge at a faster rate.

The car in question has such great numbers because it has a very large battery pack,

There is no part of this article talking about incremental changes: "This simple innovation makes lithium-ion batteries charge 20-times faster and last 20-times longer."

This article is claiming a "simple" change results in a 20x increase in performance and will be available within 2 years.

Exactly how I feel. Nano tube tech in batteries... Super Capacitor instant charge (college kid got an award for this over the summer), now this. my iPhone 7 will be lithium ion same tech in 2 years... that's my guess.

Only reason it goes 300 miles on a charge is because it has a crap load of batteries. It does no charge faster, does not hold more charge not does it do anything radically different than the battery technology from 5-10 years ago. If this comes through, it would be awesome - I wouldn't have any reason to avoid

Do you, really? Only phones on the market that can sustain more than 24 hours on a charge are the ones with a huge battery in them. From my first smart phone, to my current smart phone, all last from 7am until 11pm (they get down to 15-25% at that point). I see these articles all the freaking time, and they all have

Tesla's secret sauce is not Panasonic 18650 batteries.

I am not alone! You are not alone!

Everyone is living their life wrong except me. If everyone did what I said, they'd be happier. Also, I most likely don't practice what I preach.

The original Xbox One would have been fucking awesome. Family sharing of all your games for up to 10 people. Your physical games are always with and don't require the disc. Trade, share or sell those digital licenses. It was Steam for Xbox. Who the hell isn't always online theses days. And the console only had to

But they didnt do it. They listened to people and took those "features" out.

It got Brad Pitt nominated for an Oscar. It's good, and visually stunning, like all of Terry Gilliam's movies. Not squeaky clean sci-fi, but dirty and utilitarian. I don't think that it's aged, but it's been a while since I watched it. And it has a haunting theme.

Might be a reason for that. Did you ever take the Voight-Kampff empathy test yourself?

Then don't click.

That one is really buggy.

Hate to be that guy but looks like many site including this one updated the story as it turned out to be bullshit.

Android is half human half machine while iOS is a cisco os used in switches. But in the context when you know what people mean it doesn't make you sound any smarter anywhere but in your own head.

If only all smartphone comments discussions ended this way *wipes tear from eye*
