I understand storytelling just fine. That's how I know The Mist didn't earn that ending, and aside from being monumentally stupid, it was a cheap attempt at shocking the audience. I'm fine with a brutal and nihilistic ending, but this ending was terrible. All the worse because the rest of the movie was so great.
