I don’t think that’s what he’s saying. He’s saying using a electrically controlled “shifter” that simulates shifting like a manual. Kinda like how auto transmissions have a manual shift mode.

Given that Kim No Shlong started this shit during Obama’s administration, I highly doubt the situation would be much different now. This was an election that had no proper choice for POTUS. Either way, we lost. The islamofascists and nutcases of the world would be just as nasty to hillary.
you must be really popular there with your shining example of open-mindedness
The EcoBoost Flex disagrees.
For those who want to get their visit at Jalopnik back on track ...
Now where’d I put my slow-clap meme??? Excellent post.
“Because they can afford it” is not justification for taking from anyone.
“All the rich have to do is stop stealing all the income ...”
Shit. I really hoped that when Nick Denton got his just desserts by being bankrupted, that the rest of the Gawker-minded people he hired would disappear with him, leaving the real car-minded Jalopnik people to leave a fruitful life discussing cars. But unfortunately not.
This is supposed to be a car blog, for people who are interested in cars. This post belongs in a political blog, where people who are interested in politics can enjoy or disagree with your rant.
It’s easy to take someone else’s money away when you think everyone who makes more than you doesn’t deserve it. Meanwhile, in Portland, Maine, people campaigning for city council want to raise taxes on families earning over $100k / year, to help the poor / low income families ($100k / year for a family is NOT rich in…
Unions blow. There may have been a time and place, but no longer.
“Those who argued that the Nissan plant is the best thing that’s ever happened to the community just guaranteed that, at least in the immediate years to follow, it’s all they will get.”
Yes. they will only get good jobs, with good pay and benefits and a clean working environment. The horror. And they will have to deal…
The real question about Unions is why anyone in a plant would ever want one? They garnish your wages for “dues”, don’t get you a nickel more than management was already paying you, don’t get you more workshop safety than OSHA already guarantees you, but they can use that money to enrich themselves ...
Speed limit signs exist only to generate revenue for the Gov. Big money to be made in issuing speeding tickets.
Waiting for them to use a pull off HAAAAAAAAAAH, the damn cruisers will NEVER do that on the Tail. Obivously I do not condone the actions of the Miata though. I would have angrily sat behind the S2k forever in that case, cursing off the motorcycle to myself.
Um, right, give me a break. Have you been to Italy? I’m pretty sure they use videos like this in drivers education to demonstrate how to safely pass.
The economics just don’t work in temperate areas. If every acre of farmland in the US was growing corn, it still wouldn’t produce enough ethanol to replace gasoline. And the US has far more productive arable land than Europe.
It seems the only entities that want cars being banned are governments. Tax the car at every chance you get and now that people still are buying cars en masse, the powers that be are thinking of an outright ban. Shameful.
Fron my recollection, industrial scale cellulose alcohol is still not economically viable, even before considering land utilization opportunity cost.
