This is one of my biggest hang-ups, don’t know why I have it.

I roll with neither. I am tired of extremism and won’t support it in any form.
I don’t like them but they are at least orderly, with a prescribed start/stop time, planned well ahead and EMS is given plenty of time to find alternate routes, and almost always done on downtown surface streets.
You’d have a point except the law has already spoken on the liability inherent in your example. An accident that occurs while the road is being used for its intended purpose (the movement of vehicles, whether powered or not) has liability limited to the act of the accident itself. This is why roads have sidewalks. If…
First of all, BLM protestors absolutely got caught on camera chanting “What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want them? Now!”. So stop trying to lie about it.
It’s a purposeful literary overexaggeration to make the point that protestors need to understand that they can’t continue to get more violent, more nasty, more in-your-face, more confrontational and not suffer consequences for their lack of decorum when their audience doesn’t immediately jump right in with them.…
Not going to be a popular take but I’m going to say it anyway...
I’d rather not eliminate the clutch but I just don’t think we’ll get the option NOT to eliminate it in coming years. And especially if electric cars gain a greater foothold. My first preference is to have a manual, but if I can’t that, I’m just looking to save what I can.
Yep, and we had the four-door version. We traded a two-door Mark V for it. Our Mark V was a classy (for its time) car with decent power for its day, in beautiful cinnamon-colored cheesiness. Our Mark VI couldn’t outrun a golf cart, floated like a pot fiend at Bonnaroo and gave less feedback than a McDonald’s focus…
Nice!
I don’t disagree that a clutch is important, it’s just that I can see what’s coming down the road and clutches aren’t likely to be a part of it. So I’m trying to figure out what to do other than have video game shifters on my steering wheel, which I hate.
Read EricG’s response to you below, I’m not talking about two separate gearboxes.
As a dedicated manual aficionado, even I wonder why no one has developed this “solution”: Use a DCT transmission, but instead of paddles on the steering wheel, put a regular shifter between the seats. Standard pattern (R, 1-2-3-4-5 in an H-pattern with N in the middle of it all). Let people shift gears without a…
Came down here to make this comment and then I’ll move on:
Had to use Cobras on an XJS because it’s one of only 3 options (one of the others being Mickey Thompson drag radials, no thanks). Took me 10 tires purchased to get 4 that were in round. Warranty covered some of the cost, but not all. Had massive tread separation issues. The set I finally got onto the car seem to be…
Of course you’re reading them. They’re short enough even for someone of your capacities. Please don’t compound your ignorance with dishonesty.
You get warm and fuzzy losing debates to those of superior intellect and communication skills? What a strange bird you are.
How am I “stewing?” I look at this site about once every three days. I also think you’re confusing “stewing” with “instructing you.”
— Nissan’s response to the vote claimed “the voice of Nissan employees has been heard,” with expectations “that the UAW will respect and abide by their decision and cease their efforts to divide our Nissan family,” which is actually the opposite of what unions do. —
Easy call for me: Jaguar XJS now that Jag has its crap together.
