I’m with you. I hesitate to comment on these type of articles because oftentimes the comment is “I’m not in favor of the death penalty, BUT”. No, there should be no equivocation. Just like abortion you believe in it or you don’t.
I can’t help but think the idea of someone in their early to mid 20s dating someone just about out of their 40s is very weird or fucking gross depending on when it started.
Not the same but I dated a 40 year old when I was 23 and it was fun because he was mature and had good conversational skills and was VERY GOOD AT SEX. Well, the dating part was like 2 weeks and then we just were fuck buddies for a couple months but still. Such occasions are fine in my book.
I think I’ll start by skipping my daily three beers two days a week, being careful not to replace the saved calories with something else. If I survive that, I’ll cut a bit deeper.
And it’s not even addiction (usually). It’s habituation. It happens with benzodiazapines too. Your body becomes accustomed to the drugs and you go into withdrawal without them, but habituation doesn’t have the psychological components addictions do.
