Haven't watched it but I liked the novel a lot.

Its notable that the Spartacus TV series on Starz is really obviously influenced by 300 in visual style and green screen effects (it came out in 2010/2011?) but as it got better and better it became clear that the writers wanted to portray a really complex, intricate action drama where every side is nuanced and

The Glass Castle was likely the best of the lot as it revealed the abuse in dribs and drabs, gradually building up a picture.

I'm sure Hamm's drinking problem didn't help (not to shame the guy, I suspect playing Don Draper wasn't easy).

The horror movie We Are Still Here gets more and more violent as it goes - I was expecting a sad, quiet ghost story and got a batshit awesome, gory horror film (that still works as a film about grief).

That's a great "Durrrrrr" he makes there.

And Mask of Zorro.

Can't blame him there, filming sex scenes is by all accounts really mortifying for actors.

Such a good movie and as Film Critic Hulk said the best Bonds are love stories, and this is the best of those.

I started crying at the end and was surprised at my own emotion during a Bond film. What makes it work is he tries to revive her over and over and the fact that it goes on for too long and Bond gets so desperate, trying to save her and by extension himself, is heartbreaking.

Yeah Manchette's work translated so far into English is excellent - slim, Marxist existentialist crime novels.

Supposedly she just ghosted him.

Seriously, do you not understand how drama is about empathy for people who are flawed or worse? They're not meant to make YOU feel better about yourself.

Writer: Aw yeah Jorah's such a Nice Guy, I'm not like him, I'm so good, I'm such a good person, I'd never pine for anybody like him, Yes, Yes, I'm so good, I'm so good, I'm so goodddddddddddddddd

To Jorah's credit he's always been honest about how shitty he has been - he doesn't mince words about his being a slaver.

Bojack Horseman and You're The Worst are really good examples of how to have asshole characters and make that storytelling work, in particular Horseman which has a leftie-existentialist quality to it where the characters struggle how to find meaning in a world that is probably morally bankrupt, which leads them to

I think there's an annoying tendency of show creator-actors to write themselves as being inherently great with women and a total Casanova - Louis Ck, Marc Maron etc. on their shows.

As always.

Yeah!

All of these people sound awful.
