I really want someone to explain why helping someone go to another state for a completely legal procedure in that state is any of the home state’s business, or even where the home state would have standing of any sort to prosecute.

Isn’t “F*ck it, I’ll Kill Us All!” the Republican party platform these days?

I know that Carrie at least supported gay marriage but I actually don’t know if she’s said anything either way regarding trans people but for some reason I had her in my head as one of the blue leaning country singers but I can’t remember why. Time for me to do some googles brb!

I’m so sad that this is very likely accurate- I love Carrie Underwood. At least she has the good-ish sense to keep her views to herself!

This is a very hard concept for a lot of people to grasp.

My understanding is that the FBI didn’t file charges because Pitt had scratches on his face. Read that in some article yesterday.

I don’t understand your point. So he requested a service to be done a certain way, they tried to take his suggestions, failed and ultimately served her in this way. He still ultimately didn’t have control on where and how she gets served, just his preferences...

I can demand my X be served with papers by a midget riding a Shetland pony. That does not mean the server is obligated to do so. They are obligated to serve in any manner the law allows.

I'm also an attorney; co-signed.

I am an attorney. You are correct. We hire process servers to do the job, and even the attorneys don’t choose where it happens. The process servers do. Jason had nothing to do with this, although it is nice he is taking responsibility anyway. I do have pity for both of them for both finding new loves within the UK,

Welp, you can’t uproot your kids and move to another continent and put massive distance between them and a bonded parent that they were used to having in their lives every day, and then say you are acting in said children’s best interests. If this really is Wilde’s intention, I think Sudekis was right to serve her

“He could have served me discreetly, but instead...

Didn’t we already have this conversation (here — https://jezebel.com/jason-sudeikis-claims-he-didnt-know-ex-olivia-wilde-wou-1848852055) and wasn’t the general consensus among the commenters that Sudeikis almost certainly didn’t have anything to do with how she was served because process servers do whatever they need

Ariana Grande may have derived an outsized benefit from factors wholly outside of her control (not the least of which are the circumstances of her birth,) but just as McCurdy sees Grande as having been born on third base compared to her, I’m sure there are lots of BIPOC child actors that would see McCurdy as having

Indiana is seriously slacking as a red state. Down here in Tennessee, the governor and Republican-supermajority state legislature managed to underfund public schools and advance tax-payer funded Christian schools, pass permitless carry, and pass a draconian anti-abortion bill very similar to the one in Texas that

That permit-free carry may ultimately convince some of these right wing ass-wipes that they did make a bad decision after all. Someone needs to take a billboard across from DeWine’s office, “Guns: not just for old, heartless, fascist, White men anymore.”

Men have rights. Those of us guilty of First Degree Vagina Possession, not so much.

Because the one thing you’ll never hear from a politician is “I fucked up, it was the wrong decision and I’m going to change it.”  Fuck DeWine for helping to turn Ohio back to the pre-1950's.

“Griner pleads guilty in Russia, where 99% of not guilty pleas result in conviction.” That would get the message across.

I thought it was well-known pleading guilty is more of a legal strategy based on the circumstances of the case than an outright admission of guilt, but I guess people really are that dumb and need things spoon-fed.
