That part got cut out to pare down this piece.  I enjoyed it and even liked the auto rev-match, as I was able to override it by just blipping the throttle, myself.  If I was buying, I’d get the manual.  This sort of car is about enjoyment, not outright laptime, to me.

That’s the face of the valet when they get into it.

Should be interesting to see what the AMG drivetrain is like when paired to a manual transmission... Mercedes hasn’t ever really had a manual AMG.

This is good news. Surprised that Aston Martin gets what a lot of so-called Jalops don’t. The manual box Is the engaging way to enjoy a proper sportscar, and Aston Martin has just infused this thing with a bit more soul. God Bless Aston Martin !

Hopefully they resurrect that goofy dogleg 7-speed.  And hopefully they design a better looking shifter.

I’ll try to explain it for you in simple terms:

true, It’s pretty cocky on Ford’s part that die hard hot hatch users would jump on a bloated Fords as a substitute. They will migrate to those other brands you mentioned. Ford transformed back to it’s good old self that got them in trouble in the first place. Detroit is getting arrogant again.

When the FiST/FoST came out they pretty much made up the hot hatch market, along with the GTI. Since then we’ve gotten the Veloster R-Spec/N, Civic Type R (kinda hatchy), 500 Abarth, and a seemingly new hot hatch version of the Soul coming out. The segment seems to be on the rise, it’s a shame we’re losing the ST

“What about drivers of the Ford Fiesta, Ford Focus, Ford Fusion? They’ll switch to other Ford products, LaNeve predicted.”

The only other Ford I may get into after my Fiesta ST, is the new Bronco, or a Ranger Raptor (if that happens). I do enjoy my hot hatches though and hope the future is bright for them. I will be

I don’t disagree with you at all, but as a liberal truck bro (go ahead, fight me) I’ll trade in my Tundra tomorrow on one if it was available, but I wouldn’t even consider it for a Ridgeline.

It won’t be long before bros with lifted electric pick ups will start EVing gas stations.

He’s wrong of course. It looks like a Honda Accord Coupe.

“ass of a RAV4" Huh? They’re both small crossovers, I guess.

Shocking that a company would use similar design language on similarly sized vehicles!

All I see is a Focus on stilts, with the ass of a RAV4

And whatever revenue they do pass on for transit improvements, a good chunk of that will also be eaten up by administrative costs.

Electric cars take up just as much space as fuel-powered cars.

Prediction: The congestion charge will only just barely pay for the administration and collection of the congestion charge.

I agree that the Velar is gorgeous. My one nit is that when specced with small wheels in the base trims it looks very ungainly, but if you spec it right, like the picture above it’s beautiful.

To each their own, but I think LR makes fantastic looking cars. The Velar is stunning.
