nah, the frames are totally different. Old BoF cars had more or less a “perimeter” frame (GM’s “X” frame notwithstanding.)

As an engineer who has designed many things from many materials over decades, it is my firm conclusion that steel is superior in almost every regard. And there is an alloy for every need.

Most people don’t want a fun car though, they just want a comfy couch to sit on while they crawl through traffic to and from their jobs, plus enough space for the kids, kid-related gear, and groceries. Also, they want it to be reliable and not cost a boatload to operate.

Wow. Its like they designed the car to look like a banana, sitting with the curve side down.

Why don’t we also report the integral of the wheel horsepower over the rpm range instead of reporting peak hp numbers while we’re at it. This would help make electric drivetrains power output more directly comparable to gas. Of course, I’d also like to see a metric that takes gearing into account, like average power…

Care by Volvo is such a f-ing ripoff. We lease a 2018 XC60 ($46k sticker) for $539/mo, and insurance is a bit over $100/mo. And Volvo is saying an S60 at the same price point is $775/mo? Hard pass.

Weren’t they supposed to call that Group A racing? I remember hearing/reading about how the 288 was developed for the dirt and tarmac split racing but when it never came to fruition they just sent it off as a production model.

Does the Solara have a special type of Dent, or is it just the standard Camry Dent(tm)?
