My wife carries around a shoulder bag, it’s not a backpack. Kind of like a canvas oversized purse, but it just has all her medical crap in it.

Most residents cannot get time to get a drink. My wife, who is a resident neurologist, tries to carry around a water bottle for that very reason. Sometimes she doesn’t get to eat “lunch” until 3 or 4 pm (she tends to get to the hospital around 6).

Since when has privacy ever been a human right? Hell, it isn’t even codified in the US Constitution. It’s only been interpreted through the 5th and 14th amendments over the last century and a half or so.

Download Bing2Google Extension for Chrome and it will redirect all Cortana searches into Google. You have to be using Chrome of course, and it must be set to your default browser.

Renters’ insurance and a WIFI IP Camera were great when I had my apartment. I used Tasker (for Android) to set up a presence detection that would enable or disable the motion sensor on the camera when I came or left the apartment. If it detected motion it’d email me and I could pull up the app and view what was going

It works on Chrome 45.0.2454.15 beta-m (Chrome Beta). I just enabled the flag and it worked perfectly.

I’m fairly certain that it’s on the Chrome (browser) Dev channel, found here. It’s for Chrome 46.

Well, it looks like I can enjoy about 3 more years of neither tax gain or loss due to the marriage penalty. But, as soon as my wife is out of residency, we’ll be deep into tax penalty area.

So have I, so has my wife, so have millions of people. Do you know how you make more? Taking on risk.

If you are buying an entirely new toilet just to get a soft-close seat I have some shocking news for you...you can buy the seat separately from the toilet.

You know the difference between people like you and people like the author, risk tolerance. It’s not “the ability to take risk”, it’s the tolerance to take risk.

Holographic wills aren’t valid in many states. There’s exceptions for service-members but they need a formal will within X amount of time after they are out of the service.

Most states require witness signatures. In NY you have to have two disinterested (i.e., not getting anything under the will, or getting less in the will than they would get through intestacy) sign within 30 (I think it’s 30, might be 60) days of the testator.

Totally agree with you. I see things like this and Legal Zoom as a fast track to a lawsuit, agency hearing, basically an inevitable fine, penalty, or court date.

Sure, but that’s why as you get closer, weight more heavily towards bonds. Just look at how a Bond Index Fund did in 2008 compared to the Stock Index Fund. The Stock Index lost like 50% between 2008 and 2009. The Bond Index lost about 10%.

A 3 to 5 year time horizon for investments isn’t really that risky. Just go for blue chips and not aggressive growth funds. If you’re closer to 3 years, just weight the portfolio a bit heavier in bonds. When you start to get near to your goal, maybe within a year, pull it out and put it in a CD or money market since

Glad to help. If you do end up contacting SoFi, feel free to use this referral link since I’m not above getting $300 for a referral, you’ll apparently also get $100.

You probably can do that, but it’s likely not a good idea. You need to have at least that amount of equity in your home, which, if you have high student loans, probably won’t happen. Further, banks usually won’t let you pull out all the equity in your home.

I have a credit score around 810 and my wife is around 775. She had about $175,000 in student loan debt, I have none, and we both had mortgage debt (our house) of about $200,000. Both of us are professionals (wife is a resident neurologist, I’m a tax attorney), and our salaries are fairly good, but by no means are we

I highly recommend them (not a paid sponsor, just really like their product). They seem like a really good company to work with and I have no complaints about them so far (we’ve had the loan with them for maybe 3 months or so).
