It was jeans when I was a kid and then it moved into sneakers.  I know it was sportswear for a while.  This is just the latest in the status symbol cycle.

this just in: Kojima asks the filmmakers why his documentary is so short, and they have to explain to him the concept of “pacing”. he was last overheard asking “what’s a film editor?”

As a design professional who works with other design professionals, that’s because creative people generally aren’t conservatives.

Uh, no she doesn’t. They made it pretty clear she only likes to flirt to get attention.

I literally laughed the first time Cloud flips a switch in the reactor and Jessie says something like “wow, you’re strong!”

Girl, he had to summon his strength for 10 seconds to flip a switch... it’s not that impressive

I don’t think you can just offhandedly define videogames as a thing like that, at least not if you want to be taken seriously. It’s pointlessly and incorrectly reductive. Video games are a medium and an art form just like any other, and they can be designed for any number of playstyles or reactions they’d like to draw

Sounds like it suffers from the problem that the first part of the remake had where it went “Hey, remember that single model of a mecha hand in the rubble on your way between two screens? What if that was the central focus of an entire 45 minute dungeon sequence, and you have to interact with it repeatedly”

Rebirth

For Rebirth, the bloat comes from a constant, inescapable barrage of mini-games”.

Oh god, they didn’t fix the audio mixing? I’m playing through FF7R right now and it drives me nuts. Not to mention battle music continuing once a battle is done, despite it not being mixed to work well with conversation.

Also, thank you for clearly stating how I feel about these minigames. The same things that come

I’ll never understand the notion that motion blur somehow makes low framerates more tolerable. It doesn’t make the game feel any smoother, it just makes it blurrier because frames are blurrier for longer.

Sure, you’re free to enjoy shit, but that isn’t going to stop people from pointing out that it still stinks.

Right? It’s literally a cast by numbers effort. Suites in a room going through a list of easily recognizable actors for maximum appeal.

Eli Roth is a B movie director who sometimes plays with big boy money.  You should never expect anything of substance from him.

Discount Guardians of the Galaxy is probably the best way to describe this. I know that it can be hard to translate video game characters into live action roles but damn, it’s like they didn’t even try to cast these roles accurately

Every single person he annoyed had something better to do than help him make more money.  Fuck this guy.

Enjoy what you like, but the writing and humor in the borderlands series is trash. “Lol random” humor had grown unbearable by the time the second game came out. Trash can be fun sometimes and games don’t need a good story to be good games. But will a film about games with a trash story be terrible? Of course it will.

Makes sense considering I just bought a PS5 not too long ago. You’re welcome everyone else.

If it’s the same mini-nuke as the original, it looks cool on a shelf. That’s really its primary purpose, I think, much like a lot of the stuff on the Gear Store; it just also comes with codes for the games.

The big publishers don’t care and will never care.

Same. If nothing else, offering motion blur as a toggleable option would make everyone happy.
