“The film opens in the mid-’60s, with Henry Ford II (Tracy Letts), eldest grandson of the original Ford, angrily and somewhat impotently admonishing his workers to come up with new ideas.”

I assume that the movie ends with Ford and Ferrari deciding to be best friends because their respective racers both have mothers that are named Martha?

Boba Fett delievered Han to Jabba to much acclaim, word probably spread around because of that (is an easy to accept explanation for this).

I’ve heard some nerds explain that the freezer in Empire was industrial and not made for living creatures but that proper people carbon freezing is common.

That was my take. Though I wouldn’t pitch it as Boba Fett doing TED talks on bounty hunter best practices. Remember, Han Solo was framed in carbonite on Jabba’s wall for ... like a year (or whatever the timeframe was), so a lot of undesirables would have seen that, and Jabba’s enjoyment of it, and began replicating.

Mythosaurs ——

The Mandalorian seems to be on a mission to restore Mandalorian society. Werner Herzog talks about the beskar going back to the Mandalorians. And the Mandalorian smith talk about using the beskar to sponsor other foundlings. I think the show will deal with how societies that were suppressed by the Empire are coming

The animation studio who did that part of the Christmas special did a lot for the movie Heavy Metal as well

“You’re a Mandalorian. Your ancestors rode the great Mythosaur.”

Want!

Apt. 23 reboot!

Shelley Long & David Caruso are on hold in case Heigl is busy.

You know that she’s already starred in one of the most profitable movies of the year (Hustlers) and is filming 2 Crazy Rich Asians sequels back-to-back next year, right? She is not hurting for work.

The ratings haven’t been great and typically sitcom casts are due for a pretty big raise after their original 5-to-7 year contracts expire.

Perhaps Constance can take some solace in the fact that Pierce Brosnan had James fucking Bond lined up as his next gig before Remington Steele got surprised renewed for a fourth season, then cancelled like three episodes into it. It would be another 10 years before he got the part.

Constance Wu...meet Katherine Heigl.

This one’s less likely since the book came out in 1997—presumably well before the events of season four

I’ve seen the meme you’re referring to, but that isn’t true. Spinning was a low status job with poor pay, married women were more likely to have better jobs. So, like, if you want to celebrate that unmarried women were able to find employment and not have to live at the mercy of a husband, that’s great, but it is

If I made $100 million by the time I was 20 (or whatever) I would have zero desire to maintain my celebrity. I guess if I loved acting I’d be drawn to odd work in films—but posing for Vogue, talking about my love life, doing junkets, etc? No way!

Now playing

I’m starting to think Lindelof doesn’t really understand Watchmen all that well considering this recent interview when he said Veidt was right to kill 3 million people. This is in spite of the fact that in our reality, less than a decade after the comic came out, the Cold War ended relatively less bloodlessly and
