No it reeks of tact and empathy.

Another vote for Pablo and Andrea. The whole song has such beautiful guitar work and then that solo just explodes and takes it to another level.

Same here, that scene alone gave me a certain amount of respect for "grunge" music. So primal.

Either make a new episode or air a rerun already. This half-assed "hybrid" stuff is like getting your car washed when it's not very dirty. You just keep wondering if you wasted your time.

Agreed, and I say that as someone who developed a strong hatred of classic rock sometime in the late '70s. Peter Cetera's bass work on those early albums is so powerful, hard to believe it's the same guy.
And Danny Seraphine's autobiography is a great read if you're into such things.

As is Chicago's.

This evokes the Eugene McCarthy quote: "The only thing that saves us from the bureaucracy is inefficiency. An efficient bureaucracy is the greatest threat to liberty." Food for thought…

The secret ingredient is salt.

I feel compelled to play teacher's pet here and say thank you to the author for the nice write up, clearly someone knows and respects Mr. Liebezeit's work.

I love that doc, and Jaki is hilarious in it. Thanks for posting up the link. Anyone with an interest in '80s or '90s alternative music would do well to explore Krautrock, and that's an excellent place to start. Can is my personal favorite, thanks in no small part to Jaki's stellar drumming.

"I’ve never been interested in Roxy Music…"

Yeah, Bill's reaction in the scene feels very improvisational (and consequently natural).

Perhaps my favorite was the use of "Whipping Post" in the scene where Lindsay walks down the school hallway in the morning, as if she were suddenly aware of the sexuality all around her. Or the scene where Kim goes batshit crazy in her Gremlin to the tune of "Ice Cream Man". Both were unexpectedly apt song choices,

I was saying HOO-URNS.

Dale Bazzio - Missing Persons. Nice.

Did anyone mention the Freaks and Geeks scene with this song yet?

"The Aristocrats!"
