The author claims the book was brand new - the implication, to me, was that the inhabitant of the cabin had pilfered it from someone’s home, possibly for a child that was with them.

This all seems like a good argument for driving an automatic ;)

My wife and I bought a house on see Lake Michigan just north of Chicago. Beautiful views of the water, the city, and the home is spectacular for raising kids. It was built in the 80s, so we didn’t think anything weird would come up. For the first 1.5 years in the house, nothing. The occasional creaky floorboard but

Hi friends. In years past, I have always submitted (late, sorry!) my story about getting lost in middle school, getting lost in the woods and accidentally finding myself in a Haunt, where Jason leaned, smoking, against a tree and helped my poor, young teacher find her way out of the (fake) haunt and back to our camp.

So not even death can spare us from unpleasant men :(

Possible Shapeshifter

Bear with me, ‘cuz this one is a doozy, and spans a few years.

This seems to be a theme in the stories this year. I feel (and have been told as such by Elders) that sage is a technology that can be used by anyone - not only does it have spiritual significance across many cultures, but there is something really powerful about moving a wand of smoking sage around with the

Ugh reason #1 I will never live without dogs of a certain size! My two blue heelers are both very sweet but would 100% tear someone up if they came in the house uninvited and they SOUND mean, which is what matters. They also help me when I read too many scary stories, because I can tell myself that if the dogs aren’t

That whole thing is just mean. You should feel bad.

At the end of this summer, I had quite a decent Facebook Marketplace addiction, and I was sporadically zipping out to drop off or pick up random items.

Been a rough week here. I’m teary-eyed over the thought of a mom singing to her children to calm them during the crash.

The summer of 2014, I got a sublet in a Midwest college town to escape my family drama and to live with my partner Alex. We took over the rent for the college student who was living at home during the summer, and she told us that her current roommate would be returning to the apartment in a month. Alex and I spent the

I am a woman with many fears, but some come up a lot more often than others. My worst issues are snakes and car accidents. All my life I’ve been terrified of dying in a car accident, a fear exacerbated by a horrific accident scene my family passed on the NJ Turnpike when I was about 8. The other is snakes. A snake

At the time, I was ten or eleven years old, so 1974 or 1975. My brother and I shared an upstairs bedroom in the southwest corner of our parents’ two-story house. He is six years older than I, and back then he had a newspaper delivery route that got him out of bed at five o’clock every morning, rain or shine. Sometimes

This is an experience my mother had, long before I was born.

When I was in my early 20s, my best friend went on a trip and came back changed. She had - in a series of bizarre, improbable events - met a man who took her to an Ayahuasca ceremony, where she was told by the spirit that it was her destiny to train under a curandero, one who leads Ayahuasca ceremonies. She told me

Your grandmother got hit every night and “bounced“ back the next morning, because she didn’t gaf? Because she had strong opinions? Seriously? She was trapped in an abusive marriage.

LOL! Well, between “fight” and “flight,” flight is usually the smarter solution, so don’t be too hard on yourself? :D

Ayyyy yikes. No thank you to persistent apparitions.
