I totally get that some people don’t know because of a confluence of social, physical, and financial factors which cause various problems in our society.

I think you might want to entirely reconsider your even minor sympathy for this man. He has KNOWN he had an STI. He was sued for this a few years ago. He knowingly infected a woman and she sued him. It was covered leading up to and in the first Surviving R. Kelly miniseries.
To anyone who is thinking this is a case of “some people don’t know they have an STI” please know that this is not the first time R. Kelly has done this.
I think it’s possible they could have done more social commentary with a couple more epsiodes, but with what they chose to focus on, two more episodes would have felt like filler.
I think it makes sense that the Meths on Earth had access to better clothes than the Meths of other Settled Worlds. Yeah, they could have been better, but I’ll just go watch Queen Regina in the Enchanted Forest from Once Upon a Time to get my luxurious leader costume fix.
Whoa
Sophie as a love interest is getting trashed for her indecision.
When it’s so bad that you feel the need to anti-Green Book an organization so hopefully future black people don’t get harmed. (Shakes head. Deep sigh.)
Thank you for taking the time to put this together.
In season one, the Big Three decide to have separate birthday parties. Sophie comes to Kate’s party, but she and all of Kate’s other attendees end up at Kevin’s party and Kate ends up alone.
“Prince-Bythewood also makes a subtler point by crosscutting between the arena spectacle of men’s college basketball and the small gyms where the women’s teams play.”
I love the end credit scene with the little girl playing basketball. So cute. :)
I’m really surprised this article didn’t have any commentary about the soundtrack in this film. Each song doesn’t just place you in a year, but also, due the importance of music in black culture, enlivens every moment and emotion to make them feel more lived in. When I hear the songs in the film, the context of each…
I loved Beyond the Lights but I can't watch it anymore without the site of Nate Parker making me since to my stomach.
I love Love & Basketball and will be leaving other comments.
Bloomberg gave a better non-apology for stop-and-frisk. At least he said some of the right words even though it was clear he meant absolutely none of it. Sad to see people listed in this article were co-signing his zero progress as if it were actual amends.
Kevin seems to be making a habit of dating/having sex with Kate’s best friends and then they stop being Kate’s best friend, turn into Kevin’s girlfriend, Kevin screws things up, and the friend goes away.
Just here to say that I appreciate Kara's ability to time travel and make decisions about the timeline without breaking other peoples' lives while doing it (cough Barry Allen cough).
I love this show. I often turn on Hulu and let it play through multiple episodes. Even if it starts as background noise, I always end up sitting down to watch.
