In 1999, the woman recorded a conversation between herself and Parker where he admitted to having intercourse with her that night. She later gave this to local authorities and they used it to initiate court proceedings. He later claimed in court that they did have intercourse and that it was completely consensual.

Seriously. He admitted he had intercourse with her and multiple people saw that she was beyond intoxicated at the time. Having sex with an unconscious and intoxicated woman? That’s a rapist.

He wasn’t just plainly acquitted. He was convicted! Then they overturned it because of the rape culture excuse that they may have had consensual sex at some point in the past as if that made it okay for him and another man to have sex with her when she was unconscious!

This seems to be filed under Entertainment and I think it should be filed under Environment, unless someone is trying to imply something real dark.

For quite some time, I think our society needs better language because the term “sex tape” conflates rape and consensual sex. For example, a video showing a grown man engaging in statutory rape with a 14-year old should be called “child pornography”, not a “sex tape.”
