When I had a ‘95 RR I always called it “The Range” or “my truck” (is the OG one a truck?). When my brother had an ‘08 RR he called it The Range, and when he had a ‘12 RR he called it The Range, and when my dad had a ‘16 RR he called it The Range.

That said, I can’t recall ever calling them by name except to say on the

Oh, just double-checked and they’re only going for a few hundred. Not that special after all.

This inspired me to look up some of my old eBay listings. Found the time I sold a sealed copy of Mario Kart 64 for $79 on August 19th, 2011. Stings just a little bit.

Yeah I’m going to sound like a Boy Scout Dad or something right about now, but I have a hard rule about driving out in winter weather, especially in climates where it’s occasionally really cold (I’m in CT). You absolutely, absolutely should wear or at least have with you clothes warm enough to handle being outside.

Don’t buy hard-sided luggage that closes with a zipper, FFS. You’re just asking for failure. If you want something hard then get one that closes with a clasp or lock or other metal mechanism, and not a zipper that can be opened with a ballpoint pen or split along a seam.

I briefly owned a 1995 Range Rover Classic that was a “convertible.” What this means in reality was that it was a hack-job with a custom top affixed with a combination of velcro and snaps. I still loved the damn thing, but it wasn’t exactly ideal in Brooklyn.

I still wear a black Mercedes Benz dad cap that I got for free years ago, even though I sold my last M-B (a 190e Cosworth) way back in 2008. I like the way it looks stylistically.

Whereupon I make my case for a foolproof plan to fix our nation’s roads.

It was March 31st 2009, and towards the end of my Senior year at Stevens Institute of Technology, in Hoboken, NJ I had an interview for a job in central Jersey so I drove my car in the day before so that I could get there easily. Hoboken is obnoxiously unfriendly with regards to parking, but luckily there was this one

My last car was a 1995 Range Rover classic with no power steering, and I owned it here in NYC, parallel parking it at least 4 times a week. It was quite a workout.
