Man, Pitch Black is a great B-movie. I suppose it is pretty stupid, but it's also great.

Future Folk is just a great film, but buying their album just illustrated that they were very canny about putting their best songs in the movie, because the other half of that record is not nearly as charming.
Me, on the other hand, I'm a Whovian but I hate Hardwick.
I also fixated on those shifty eyes and am so far not convinced that Su is on the up and up.
I was waiting for a cut to the woman who was suddenly shut out of the program after previously being told she was one of the 100 to get in.
Also, why was she sitting outside in the cold to look at the photo book? WAS she sitting outside in the cold, or was it some sort of non-heated, screened-in patio? The setting of that scene confused me more than anything else about it.
I love "Coax Me".
Interesting. Well, it's really kind of a moot point with KITH since they're all so great.
Really? Mark is below Kevin in your books? Huh.
I read a whole bunch of these books when I was in junior high/high school. My recollection is that the second series was the best. And that Brooks was quite good with characterization and battle sequences.
More unrealized projects on his plate the last few years: Del Toro or Sam Raimi?
These are both good points. I have kind of given up on being concerned about books 6 and 7 at this point. I've gone from being really worried about Benioff and Weiss' insistence that the show wrap up in 7 seasons when it could've used 10 to being completely on board with their determination to trim as much fat as…
Martin knows that fantasy book fans, the ones that made his series a success before the tv show premiered, have had to deal with this exact scenario in the last 10 years, right? I know people (including me) don't like Robert Jordan nearly as much as Martin, but it's a legitimate concern.
Poor Enver Gjokaj. I'm convinced that casting directors in Hollywood saw him in the first two episodes of Dollhouse and, like the general public, stopped watching. Because now all he does is show up in one-off tv roles as a Russian guy. It's so frustrating.
The Island is so, so bad, but it's bad for different reasons than most of Bay's movies. There are actual decent storytelling ideas in the film that are constantly undermined by Bay's insistence on keeping things moving. This is obviously most recognizable in the second half, when the movie just devolves into all-out…
I also liked Glau in Knights of Badassdom. She didn't have to work very hard or anything (not that anybody in the movie really did), but she was fun.
His Dollhouse role was also an inadvertent referendum on Eliza Dushku's acting ability, the black hole at the center of that show. He effectively channeled a whole bunch of completely different personalities while she tried to do the same thing. And for her it was…let's say ineffective.
RIP. Really glad I got to see him sing live on the Gorillaz Plastic Beach tour a few years ago.
At least we still have Dan in Real Life 2: Back 2 Tha' Life!
He was on the opposite side of Scalia two days ago, actually. Scalia and 6 other justices ruled mostly in favor of the EPA being able to put restrictions on the emissions of power plants, while Thomas and Alito were the dissenters, essentially saying "The Environmental Protection Agency should have no say at all in…
