I liked this book a lot and will go see a movie if it ever comes out.
I agree about Speed Racer. It was tremendously fun and they knew exactly what they were doing with that movie. It just so happened that Warner Bros. didn't realize that the Wachowskis were just gonna straight-up adapt the animated show into a goofy live action cartoon until after they'd given them a couple hundred…
Edit: Never mind. Needed to read further down.
Keep brainstorming.
Yep, that first album is just excellent. After that, it gets pretty scattered and I just have to pick and choose individual songs that I like.
He actually added one.
Their debut album is one of the best power-pop records of the 21st century. Their subsequent material has ranged from painful to great, depending on the song. I do enjoy the videos, though.
Nope. They blasted through the season so that it would be eligible for this year's Emmys. Letting it go week to week would've pushed it all the way to 2015's awards, and FX wants that prestige if they can get it.
From your two comments it sounds like I made the right call on not returning to the McGruder-less Boondocks.
The AVClub: It's all nerd shit, all the time.
One of the quidditch players at my local comic convention this year was wearing a My Little Pony parody t-shirt that said "My Little Epona." So that was pretty close.
The broomsticks really do kill it as a sport. It's so, so dorky that way and it would make a perfectly fine game without them. But the players insist on doing it with brooms and wow is it stupid-looking.
I've never been one to be slavish to the comic book while watching the show, but the Negan stuff, while going on for far too long, was at least kind of fun and more interesting than just about anything that happened post-Governor. He may be a paper-thin character, but at least he has some personality.
I, for one, will probably still be watching at that point, if only to see who they get to play Negan in season 10.
That was a kickass trailer.
I DID IT ALL FOR THE NOOKIE!
1. Because CBS doesn't really know how to do this serial storytelling thing, so I'm sure they were at least partially behind the meandering, episodic nature of the show.
I was at that show! My friend and I made the road trip from Houston. And it was totally worth it since they didn't play Houston at all on the Together tour.
I'm not sure of anything after Together, since "Valkyrie of the Roller Disco" was somehow not a Bejar song.
