I'm surprised that Disney is going back to Turtletaub after he directed The Sorceror's Apprentice a few years ago. And that concept had a way lower degree of adaptation difficulty than this one.

You can also go to heaven, though! (I didn't when I rode it)

Those are the only two that have been mentioned in rumors so far, and Mikkelsen was sort of an afterthought that happened a little while after the Depp rumor came out. I'm sure plenty of other people could do a great job in the role.

As I look through the rest of the thread, I see that this is not a popular opinion. Oh well. :p I didn't exactly go out and buy the soundtrack or anything.

Let me frame it like this. Given their recent work, would you guys rather see Mads Mikkelsen or Johnny Depp as Doctor Strange when Marvel gets around to casting the role? Because I know I'd rather see the character as a creepy oddball with soul than a collection of self-consciously "out there" tics.

Rango was my favorite film of that year. Srsly. Granted, it wasn't a top-notch year for movies, but Rango was awesome.

Let's not forget how amazing The Ring is, too. That's a freakin' great movie.

Well, I enjoyed the movie apart from the gaping hole Depp left in the center of it as Wonka. Danny Elfman's songs were great.

Nick of Time did 24, and did it well, before 24 started.

Sleepy Hollow really is a lot of crazy fun. Their names are on the show with Len Wiseman as the creators, and they have writing credits on the first, second, and season finale episodes. But they aren't the showrunners.

Orci is also the one that's a 9/11 Truther, right?

I won't ever forget that one. The team that showed it was possible to win a championship in defiance of the "It takes at least 2 superstars" conventional wisdom at the time. And like the '88 Pistons just missing out against the Lakers, that '05 Finals against the Spurs was just amazing.

Mahorn wasn't actually traded to the 76ers, at least not by the Pistons. He was #9 on the Pistons' totem pole of players and teams could only protect 8 guys in the expansion draft. So he was left unprotected and taken by the Minnesota Timberwolves, who then turned around and sent him to Philadelphia.

Let's also not forget that those two titles put the Rockets on the list of the 7 NBA teams that have won multiple titles since 1980. Only the '83 76ers and the '11 Mavericks break up the streak that the Celtics, Lakers, Pistons, Bulls, Spurs, Rockets, and Heat have going. It's kind of amazing how concentrated the

And I will always feel the same way about the Bulls.

As a kid and teen in the Detroit area, I always loved Laimbeer.

I have, but not since the 90's. My favorite Oshii film is Beautiful Dreamer.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is very good and I also enjoyed Summer Wars, from the same director.

I always felt like Kon felt like Paranoia Agent didn't get enough of an audience airing, like most anime in Japan, in the dead of night. So he made Paprika as a way of exploring the same themes to a wider audience.

Kino's Journey is AMAZING. It's like an anime version of a '70s lone wanderer show like Kung Fu or The Incredible Hulk, but set in a strange, super-interesting world.
