Are you talking about Shkreli? That dude was not “big pharma”. Big pharma is Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Amgen, Teva, etc... Shkreli was CEO of “Turing Pharmaceuticals”. Also, he was convicted of fraud for his work as a hedgefund manager before he became a pharma CEO.

Just want to say this is one of my favorite features on this site. Not every actor is a leading man/woman, but you can still have a great career. The actors interviewed for these pieces are always so forthcoming and really appreciative of what they have.

The producers said he was the most prepared of the bunch - he had spent a crazy amount of time getting ready for the opportunity. It's fair to say you don't like him, but apparently "lazy" does not apply.

Has anyone asked Eugene Levy?

Buddy you are picking the worst fight at the WORST time for the WORST stakes

What Ansari did wasn't great but I wouldn't say it's on the same level as Spacey. Ansari also apologized to the woman, privately before it made news and publicly in his special. At the very least he's not releasing creepy videos each year urging the public to forgive him.

I thought The Knick was notable for its direction, not its writing.

How random. But The Knick was a great show so they should be in good hands.

Nobody pretends that it was good. But it was fun.

I’m a public health worker, and here’s my semi-professional opinion on the J&J thing. Unsurprisingly, the snarky AV Club opinion (and sadly, the opinion from Colbert’s writer) is really uninformed:

I think he just screws around doing projects he thinks are fun without worrying about much.  I really can’t blame him at all.

Why are you ducking on the steak? A lot of steak houses offer it as an option.

Look, Tyson’s got his problems, but I’m not siding with a company whose very name expresses such hesitancy about whether what they sell is actually steak.

I’ve known Molly for years and she is wonderful. If you met her in person, you’d be smitten in less than a minute. That being said, I completely understand your CG thing, because that’s how I feel about all people who are Midwest Nice. They freak me the hell out, especially since I’m from Brooklyn where we’re born

I don’t think it lives in quite the same infamy as some other much-hated movies, simply because only $14 million worth of people saw it in theaters and probably not WAY more people discovered it later. But, as limited as CinemaScore is as a quantifier, that “F” certainly speaks to some widespread dissatisfaction among

Reviled by who? I love this movie; everyone was great in it but I would single out Viola Davis. And that Cliff Martinez score, gorgeous. Sure, it was doesn’t have a 12-minute wordless shot of a guy in a taxi or whatever, so I guess it’s not ART.

girl she was funny in that, straight up.

“Snakes! Why did it have to be snakes?”

I think she can be great, just like how Sandler can be great. Can You Ever Forgive Me, St. Vincent, Bridesmaids, she was v memorable in. But these movies are easy to make and make lots of money I assume, so it’s probably just a fun gig.

Yes, but that was exactly Dory's conundrum. Only a fiction story follows a clear throughline. In life, it's rarely clear (in the moment, anyway) what's meaningful and what's random.
