I saw the movie yesterday. Personally I thought that jump cut, if you can call it that, was really interestingly done.

While I broadly agree with you, I’ve always thought of Nolan as a great storyteller who’s an awful dialogue writer. While I don’t like the shoddy storytelling of the last two seasons, I think yesterday’s episode was vastly better than the one before it. The payoff of Dany’s turn is at least an interesting narrative choice, even if the setup doesn’t earn it.
