Here's something I noticed about 90's "nu-metal": every single nu-metal band (with the possible exception of Puddle of Mudd) has fans who say, "this band came up in the nu metal era, but managed to transcend it." I've heard it said about Korn, Rammstein, Deftones, and Tool, the latter two I've said personally (and

I saw it in IMAX 3D. I couldn't imagine seeing it any other way. I suspect 3D is used very sparingly; I didn't notice it for long stretches of time, and when I did, it enhanced the scene.

Comedy premises never really "sound good":

Yeah, Campbell's turn was great. But if the guests can't rap, things can get embarrassing pretty quickly, like the one with Jon Hamm, or the one with Mantzoukas.

I usually hate it when the Freestyle Rap Battle spins up, but Amy Poehler was as amazing as her first appearance.

Here's a question: would it be worth having Wiggum as your police chief, just for the beautiful, beautiful stories?

My impression of this news is that Vince Gilligan worked on the project long before Breaking Bad, and only now has it gotten green-lit (under a new writer). Since David Shore is announced as the EP and showrunner, I'm guessing it's his show and that Vinny is only getting an EP credit because he originally developed it.

They also discuss his casting on the BB podcast, and Vince mentions talking his ear off about how much he loves Jackie Brown.

Indeed, "Palestinian Chicken" (and "Seinfeld" a season before it) got an A+. Pretty cool.

What has ever gotten an A+? Neither the last season of The Wire nor The Sopranos boast one, and I can't think of any other shows that could possibly have earned one.

"Do you like apples?"

I think in the Hartford scenario specifically, they were just caught off guard. I saw Chappelle in Camden a week later, and he mentioned having a big security meeting before the show about actually kicking people out.

His voice is just so delightful! Although Hedonism Bot gives him a run for his money.

You, sir, have the boorish manners of a Yalie.

I respectfully disagree with you about Lil Gary, I find him hilarious.

It's odd, and a little sad, that a lot of bands from that era have floundered in the same way: Interpol and Franz Ferdinand immediately leap to mind.

That scene where Barry Lyndon eye-fucks the countess during the card game turns me to diamond.

I love their song "Lightning Crashes Schreiber."

"Baffling" too high or "baffling" too low?
